I’m a native Washingtonian who graduated from Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications with a B.A. in print journalism. After a brief career stint in journalism and advertising, I followed my parents’ footsteps into the legal field, graduating top of my class in paralegal studies at Howard University, and obtaining a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Capella University. I am also a member of the paralegal association NALA and the DC-TLA. I have been a paralegal for 13 years throughout the DMV and Hampton Roads, Virginia areas in various fields including family law, criminal, real estate, entertainment, bankruptcy, medical malpractice and personal injury, and I currently serve as a notary public for the District of Columbia.
While I enjoyed my years working in various legal fields, it was in medical malpractice and personal injury that I found my calling. Being in this field has allowed me to use my natural investigative nature, education and experience to serve our clientele at their darkest hour, and to be able to provide them with a helping hand during such hardships in their lives has only further strengthened my love for the law and continued commitment to the community at-large.
While I love the law and all of its intricacies, I am also equally passionate about sports, food and travel, not necessarily in that order. Add to that my love for family, of which I am the youngest of three and only daughter (in my immediate family).
